3rd Grade Teacher
Kay Tracy teaches third grade at Costa Catholic Academy. She received her teaching degree in Elementary Education from Western Illinois University. Kay has been in the teaching field for over twenty-five years with most of that being at the third grade level. Kay lives in rural Rio with her husband, Bruce, and their two sons, Austin and Collin. Her stepson, Eric, lives near Raleigh, NC, with his wife, Beth, and their two sons. Allison, Kay's stepdaughter, lives in Glasgow, KY, with her husband, Daniel, and their son.
In her free time, Kay enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also likes flower gardening and walking with her two dogs, Callie and Jazzie.
In third grade at Costa, we have learned all about the water cycle in our stream class. We have extended on this concept by constructing rain forest dioramas and reports.
Third grade has us learning multiplication and division. We have enjoyed using our Lux Blox to make our multiplication squares for math. We have also used them for a variety of math concepts.
In writing, the students are using their creativity to write and illustrate their own story books.
